I wish I could see the Path I’m making.

Good Morning!

I started this illustration last Sunday while sitting in church. I’m in a weird place in my life (like everyone I guess) where I have a lot of ideas of where I’m going but no idea how I’m going to get there. I know (kinda) that I’ve come pretty far but it’s also difficult to look back and accurately recognize the progress I’ve made.

The friction of uncertainty sometimes makes it difficult to keep doing the little things that I know are moving me in the right direction. It’s a lot easier to scroll forever than to push through and go to sleep on time or go on one of my walks. I think that this is the only thing I would change about this illustration if I were to make it again. The path that I’ve made in the past, although beautiful and right because it’s gotten me here, has a lot of slipped stitches and gaping holes. I do a lot of wandering and returning and I’m learning that it’s more important for me to get up and try again than to always make exactly the right choice in the moment.

I’m moving towards something good and eventually I’m going to get there, but I’m also learning to try to see the path that I’m making as beautiful in the moment.

I’ve had two weddings in the last week and a half. One for one of my oldest friends (elementary school! We ate dirt together!) and one for one of my very best friends from college (I wrote her a silly prophecy song about who she was going to marry 3 years ago and unfortunately none of it came to pass 🙁 ).

While wonderful and exciting I don’t think I’ve gone to sleep at a reasonable time in weeks. Stay tuned for next week, when I will hopefully be more well rested haha.

See you next week!

We went to Medieval times where it was largely agreed that the best part was the end when the knights were actually wacking each other with swords.
